Radoslav Kvapil is considered by many international critics to be the most important Czech pianist. He has specialised in the Czech repertoire world-wide, being the first ever to record Antonín Dvořák’s complete piano works (1967 – 1969) and later on the complete piano works of Leoš Janáček, Jan VáclavH. Voříšek and Bohuslav Martinů. Radoslav Kvapil has performed at prominent festivals, has recorded for a number of radio and television stations in Europe, the USA and Japan. In April 2002 the French Minister of Culture awarded him the title of “Chevalier dans l´Ordre des Arts et des Lettres”. He is Chairman of the International Antonín Dvořák Society, Chairman of the Society of the South Bohemian Festival, the Society of the Vysočina Festival and EPTA Czech Republic.
